Community Initiatives Accomplishments

El Paso County receives federal funding through the Housing of Urban Development (HUD) for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program to improve the physical, economic, and social conditions for low-and-moderate income residents.

El Paso County also received federal funding for the Community Development Block Grant-Covid (CDBG-CV) Program to assist in the prevention, preparation, and response to the spread of COVID-19.

The projects funded by CDBG and CDBG-CV dollars help build neighborhood resiliency through supportive services, infrastructure improvements, advancement of housing safety and accessibility, housing stability, emergency shelter, whole family health and safety services for youth, seniors and people with disabilities, homelessness prevention, rehousing and more.
