El Paso County Parks will host a youth fishing derby at Willow Springs Ponds from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, May 19.
Get outside and learn to fish at Willow Springs Ponds. This is a free fishing derby for children ages 5 to 15. No fishing licenses are need for the children.
“Some of my fondest memories are from fishing with my dad and godfather as a youth,” Commissioner Longinos Gonzalez, Jr. said. “And some of the greatest joy I’ve seen in children is the excitement and pride in catching their first fish. Come join us and enjoy a morning of family fun, lunch, and creating new memories.”
Join the fun of fishing demonstrations, prizes, and hot dogs grilled by Commissioner Gonzalez.
