El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Chuck Broerman, for the second year, has been appointed Chair to the Colorado DRIVES County Governance Committee (DCGC). The DCGC consists of eight members appointed by the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) and one member appointed by the Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Information Technology pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute 42-1-211 (4).
“This committee is essential to provide appropriate oversight and guidance to the motor vehicle titling, registration and driver control services in Colorado,” said Chuck Broerman, Clerk and Recorder. “We are working to increasingly deliver services in the manner that our citizens wish to be served. Growing services via mail, phone, online or kiosks.”
Effective January 1, 2020, Clerk and Recorder Broerman is proud to represent the interest of all 64 Colorado counties. Items the committee will focus on this year are highlighted below.
- Assisting in the development of annual operational plans and budget proposals regarding DRIVES and the special purpose account created in C.R. S. 42-1-211(2)
- Giving final approval of all plans for the development and operation of DRIVES and the annual budget and any supplemental budget requests funded by the special purpose account
- Presenting to appropriate legislative committees in conjunction with the Department of Revenue regarding the use of funds
- Establishing subcommittees and working groups
