El Paso County Fair staff are hosting a workshop to help new and inexperienced drives and car builders prepare for the Demolition Derby at the 2020 El Paso County Fair.
The workshop is 10 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, at Swink Hall at the El Paso County Fair and Events Centers, 366 10th Street in Calhan.
“The extra help can put drives in a better position to win part of the $18,000 purse,” said Stacy Starr, Fairgrounds Program Coordinator.
The purpose of this workshop is to assist anyone interested in building a derby car for the El Paso County Demolition Derby or volunteering to assist with the Derby. Derby staff will be available for any questions you may have. A derby car will be on site and available to view.
2020 Rules will be presented, as well as information about the various Demolition Derby classes: Limited Weld, Chain, Small Truck and Compact and the new Bone Stock Compact Chain Class.

“Come and discuss Derby ideas and learn how you can be a part of the derby crew,” said Starr.
Derby safety will also be covered.
