August 12, 2022– El Paso County, in partnership with the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority, is pleased to announce the release of plan documents for the Briargate Parkway-Stapleton Road corridor project. With this step, El Paso County is opening the topic for public comment.
The Briargate Parkway-Stapleton Road Corridor Preservation Plan and Access Control Plan will be available for public review until Friday, September 16. El Paso County encourages the public, especially El Paso County residents, to review the Briargate-Stapleton Corridor Preservation Plan and provide their comments by visiting the information page at www.briargate-stapleton.com. The public is encouraged to share anything they feel should be considered as part of the planning process.
The website also includes interactive maps of the area, as well as a virtual public open house showcasing the project overview, road corridor studies, and frequently asked questions.
Once the public comment period is complete, the plan will continue through the approval process with the Highway Advisory Committee, the Planning Commission, and the Board of County Commissioners.
