The Clerk and Recorder’s Office will conduct a public Logic and Accuracy test on all ballot counting equipment that will be used for the 2020 Primary Election. This includes the Central Count Optical Scanners, and Voter Service and Polling Center electronic voting machines. The L&A test will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 28. The testing will continue until completion, which the Clerk’s Office anticipates will be Friday, May 29. The test will be held in the Peterson Counting Room at the Citizens Service Center on the second floor. The test is open to all those who wish to observe, however, due to COVID-19 and for the health and safety of all, these spectators must maintain recommended physical distancing and are asked to wear a face mask.
“This process is an important safeguard for our democracy, accuracy reflects the intent of the voter,” said Chuck Broerman, Clerk and Recorder. “That is why we believe in doing this test in an open and transparent way. People need to know they can trust the election process.”
Media representatives attending the testing are asked to RSVP to Kristi Ridlen.
