Motorcycle Entry/Exit Lane Instructions

Costilla and Sahwatch Garages

The motorcycle lane is designed to enhance visibility, improve traffic flow, and promote safety when entering and exiting the garage. Please follow the guidelines below.

Entry

  • Motorcyclists are not required to pull an entry ticket, as motorcycle parking is free.
  • El Paso County employees do not need to badge in.
  • Approach slowly and remain within the marked motorcycle lane.
  • Yield to pedestrians at all times.
  • Be alert for vehicles exiting nearby lanes.
  • Do not stop or idle in the lane unless traffic conditions require it.

Exit

  • Motorcyclists do not need to use the parking kiosk. Proceed directly through the dedicated lane without scanning a ticket, validation, or card.
  • El Paso County employees do not need to scan their badge to exit.
  • Approach slowly and stay within the marked motorcycle lane.
  • Yield to pedestrians at all times.
  • Use caution and watch for merging traffic from adjacent lanes.
  • Use turn signals when exiting onto the roadway.
  • Maintain a steady speed and avoid sudden stops.

Misuse of this lane may create safety hazards. As always, please use caution when entering and exiting garages. Thank you for helping keep our citizens and visitors safe.

General Parking Information

  • For general questions concerning parking, please call Parking Operations at (719) 520-7741 or (719) 520-6511.
  • Parking facilities accept credit card payments ONLY. Cash payments are no longer accepted.
  • Parking fees paid for scheduled events are $5.00 and cover 4.5 hours from the event start time as listed by the Pikes Peak Center. Gates open for exiting.
  • Pay-on-foot kiosks are available in both downtown parking structures. Credit Card payment only.
  • Vehicles may be ticketed and/or towed from the property at the owner’s expense as a result of violating parking regulations.
  • El Paso County is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or any articles left therein.
  • Please leave the ticket on the vehicle dashboard.
  • Sahwatch and Costilla parking structures are one-way traffic only.
  • Extended stays (over 24 hours) are not authorized. In the event of an emergency, please notify parking operations, or the vehicle will be towed.
  • While conducting jury duty, parking is covered with an approved validation. Upon exiting the parking structure, scan the parking ticket, then the parking validation received from the Jury Commissioner’s Office.
  • County employees may contact Parking Operations to request a daily-use parking space. Approved use is on a first-come, first-served basis until full, and then there is a wait list.
    • “Reserved Parking” designated spots are not available for the jury and public to park in Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
    • Numbered or lettered “Reserved Parking” signs are assigned to specific individuals/vehicles.
    • Spots marked reserved 24/7 are only available to assigned individuals at all times.
