El Paso County Assessor Steve Schleiker, Representative Terri Carver and Senator Bob Gardner invite senior citizens to attend an Open House on Saturday, October 12, to discuss the current Homestead Property Tax Exemption, and Medical Necessity Bill.

“We want to ensure that our senior population are informed about the bill that allows them to maintain their eligibility for a property tax exemption in the event they need to change primary residences due to a medical necessity certified by a doctor.” Assessor Schleiker said.

This is an opportunity for citizens to learn more about the provisions of the tax exemption by asking questions and engaging with state and local sponsors of the bill as well as the County Assessor.
