The El Paso County Office of Emergency Management, the Sheriff’s Office and the City of Colorado Springs Office will be teaming up with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and other agencies from around the County and the region on June 3 for Community Emergency Preparedness Day at Security Service Field.

The event will take place Sunday, June 3, 2018, during the Sky Sox baseball game. Gates open at 12 p.m. and the game starts at 1 p.m.

After the game, families will have the opportunity to learn more about being prepared for all types of emergencies. There will be interactive demonstrations that include:

  • A 911 mobile classroom
  • Electrical and natural gas safety demonstrations
  • Life Line transport helicopter tours
  • Police and fire department displays
  • 911 emergency notification registry

Families can also take part in a scavenger hunt with a chance to win free tickets to a future Sky Sox game and will have a chance to meet some Sky Sox players and get autographs.

In addition to the educational opportunities, kids will have a chance to see emergency trucks and equipment up close.
