EZ Pre-Certification and Certification Applications

EZ Pre-Certification:

Legislative changes to the Enterprise Zone Program in 2012 require that online Pre-Certification applications be completed annually. EZ Pre-Certification is quick and simple, and ensures that your business can earn and claim these valuable tax credits.

Pre-Certification applications may be completed up to 90 days before the business’ tax year start date. You may Pre-Certify at any time during the business’ tax year; however, the business is only eligible to earn Enterprise Zone tax credits for the period certified.

Please visit Colorado’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade’s Enterprise Zone page and click the “Apply for a tax credit” button to begin the Pre-Certification process. The local EZ Administrator will review and approve the Pre-Certification application – please retain the approval email in your tax records.

EZ Certification:

Certification applications are to be completed following the conclusion of the business’ tax year, before submitting your tax return to the Colorado Department of Revenue. To certify for EZ tax credits, you must have an approved Pre‐Certification application.

Please visit Colorado’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade’s Enterprise Zone page and click the “Apply for a tax credit” button to begin the Certification process. The local EZ Administrator will review and approve your Certification application, and the State will email you an EZ Certification Tax Credit Certificate.
