We understand the importance of balancing work and personal life. Flexible work options depend on department/office discretion and operational needs. Work-life balance is further supported by our generous paid time off program to help employees recharge, care for themselves, and enjoy time with family and friends.
We observe 11 paid holidays each year for all full-time employees! In addition, full-time team members accrue personal holiday leave based on their tenure—starting with 24 hours per calendar year. Part-time employees who are scheduled to work on an observed holiday will be paid for the hours they work on that day.
Full-time employees enjoy vacation leave that grows with them — accruing time off biweekly, with annual totals starting at 96 hours for non-exempt employees and 120 hours for exempt employees. As tenure grows, so does the available vacation time to rest & recharge.
Full-time employees earn sick leave that grows with them — accruing time off biweekly, with annual totals starting at 96 hours. As tenure grows, so does your available sick leave. Part-time employees accrue leave in accordance with state law.
Regular & in-person attendance is an essential function of every position at EPC. However, to help balance work & personal life, we offer flexible work schedules and hours, as well as telework options for eligible roles, dependent on department discretion and operational needs.

Healthcare coverage includes a variety of plans for medical, dental, and vision. Additional programs include Dependent Care & Flexible Spending Accounts.
Take advantage of virtual visits! Medical plan participants can utilize this 24/7 benefit to speak with a Board-Certified provider via phone, tablet, or computer.
Dependent upon enrollment selections, a Health Reimbursement Account and/or Flexible Spending Account may be available to you.
Additional supplemental insurance, including accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity, is available for employees to help cover out-of-pocket medical expenses.
We offer disability insurance, such as employee-paid short-term disability and employer-paid long-term disability, which provides financial support to individuals who are unable to work due to illness or injury.
Employees are provided with group term life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at a set amount for themselves and their dependents; employees can purchase additional term life and AD&D insurance.
Medical Plan enrollees can utilize additional services: sleep apnea management, high quality & discounted non-emergent surgery assistance, virtual physical therapy, & early cancer detection.
Full-time employees contribute to the El Paso County Retirement Plan on a biweekly basis. Employees who meet the vesting requirements are eligible for a lifetime pension, offering security and stability. Our retirement plan is unique in that our employees receive their pension and social security at retirement, which is not a standard for all public employers.
In addition to our retirement plan, employees can opt into the 457 deferred compensation plan for additional retirement savings.
Beyond insurance coverage and specific initiatives, we value and support employees’ wholistic health through gyms, health centers, and wellness programs like Reach Your Peak and Lyra, our employee assistance program.
EPC offers an onsite fitness center, free fitness classes (live – onsite & virtual) and on-demand (virtual), and free onsite personal training.
Additionally, employees can opt-in to OnePass, which provides discounts to gyms in the area!
Available to all employees at no cost, this program provide resources, & support to reach and maintain optimal health. Additional benefits apply to medical plan participants, including HRA contributions.
As a medical plan enrollee, an onsite Condition Management Nurse can consult with you on matters including weight loss, fitness, smoking cessation, general health, etc.
Two onsite health centers provide medical plan participants reduced copays for quality, convenient, and affordable medical care, behavioral health services, and a full range of preventative health and wellness services.
Our mental health program offers: 8 confidential mental health sessions to all employees and their dependents at no cost, legal/financial consultations, identification of theft support, and more.
